Particularly fine variety. The fruit is spherical and has a quite thin shell that allows a fast mechanical shelling.
The high quality fruit is used in the confectionery industry for its pronounced organoleptic qualities to prepare creams and precious desserts.
The hazel is characterized by a medium stamina, can adapt to different latitudes and climates, and can be planted in several countries.
The cultivation of this variety in the provinces of Alessandria, Asti, Cuneo, Novara, Torino and Vercelli produces the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) Piedmont hazelnut.
Medium vigour, semi-open pruning. Excellent productivity.
Good size: round and slightly trilobal, in a light brown colour.
Tardive. Recommended polliniser: Tonda Gentile Romana and Camponica.
Hazelnut in a light colour inside the shell, with little fibres on the surface.
Early / Mid-ripening.
